When I teach GCSE Physics, I try to make sure students are as active as possible. I try to restrict my didactic teaching to 10-15 minutes per lesson, leaving the rest of the lesson for students to be doing practical work or working on questions. To make sure I do not meander too much while teaching, I devised a set of presentations where each slide was a single lesson. Students making notes from these slides would therefore be making a single page of notes per lesson maximum.
To help the students take notes, and to speed up the note-taking process, I created a document of notes with blanks that students fill in. So lessons usually began with students “absorbing the notes” (meaning reading and copying the missing parts), followed by me explaining the important points for 10-15 minutes, followed by either practical work or question practice, during which time I discuss issues with individual students and check their work.
Why am I telling you all this? Well, sometimes, students miss a lesson (perhaps they had a music lesson at the same time, or were unwell and unable to attend school). To help students keep up with the course, I thought it would be a good idea to record the lessons. I recorded the lessons to be shared on my YouTube channel so others can benefit too.
If you are studying GCSE Physics, you may find this playlist useful. It is just under 17 hours and 20 minutes long. The playlist is below.
It includes the entirety of the AQA GCSE (9-1) Physics course, following the order of the approved textbook by Jim Breithaupt. The videos have timestamps (chapters) so you can quickly jump to the section you want. The document below has links to all of the timestamps.
If you want a copy of the notes with blank spaces to fill in, you can download them here. If you want a copy of the presentations, you can get them by clicking here, or you can get them for free if you are enrolled in the weekly tuition sessions.
Hopefully you will find these helpful.
Of course, studying for a GCSE involves more than just watching videos and completing notes! If you want live and interactive tuition sessions so that you can ask questions and get answers, and practice answering questions to get real-time feedback, then consider enrolling on the weekly tuition sessions (see below).
