Change of day, change of time

I regularly review attendance numbers and seek feedback to try to ensure what I offer helps as many people as possible.

Last year in the Summer term sessions were on Thursday evenings, but some tutees were unable to attend because of Scouts or Cadets, and I was asked to change the day when tuition sessions take place.

So, in the Autumn term this year, I had moved the tuition session times to Saturday mornings, which the poll suggested was the best time. Numbers for the GCSE Physics sessions have been low since then.

Now, feedback from tutees suggests that 08:30 on a Saturday is too early. Also, Saturday morning seems to clash with sports practices.

Ever one to try to help, I’ll be changing the session times again.

From January 2026, I am planning for the session timings to be as follows:

  • 09:30-10:20 Sunday: GCSE Physics
  • 10:30-11:20 Sunday: A-Level Physics
  • 11:30-12:20 Sunday: GCSE Astronomy

No time is ever going to be perfect for everyone, but hopefully these new times will improve attendance! Remember, the sessions are recorded too, but live attendance means you get personalised feedback during the sessions.

The spring term is when Year 11s and Year 13s usually make tremendous improvements as they head towards their summer examinations. I can help with that, and hopefully the new tuition session timings will help too.

Christmas special

This year, the Christmas special will be at 10:30am on Christmas Eve to make it more festive! It’ll be an opportunity to have some physics fun and celebrate the end of 2025 in style! Everyone is welcome to join in. Details to follow.

  1. Hi Keith

This sounds great for us! Sunday works brilliant as indeed Saturday we have activities so Sky could never attend live. She loves your videos!

    Have a lovely Christmas
