PHYSICS TUITION
Improve your Physics or Astronomy grade
while maintaining positive mental health
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU OR YOUR CHILD?
- Underachieving in GCSEs or A-Levels in Physics or Astronomy?
- Want to get better grades?
- Getting stressed out?
THE TRADITIONAL SOLUTION
- Attend after-school support sessions
- Be given lots of extra homework (that might never get marked)
- Hire expensive 1:1 tutors
WHY THIS MIGHT NOT WORK
- After-school support sessions can feel like a punishment and can manifest a lack of confidence
- Adding to a young person’s workload can lead to executive dysfunction, avolition or burnout
- Placing the young person in an intense face-to-face 1:1 situation can cause a decline in the young person’s mental health and increase the risk of burnout
- It can increase the pressure on young people when they know a parent is investing a lot and making sacrifices to help them improve
PHYSICS WITH KEITH SESSIONS ALLOW PARTICIPATION WITHOUT THE FEELING THAT THE SPOTLIGHT IS ON THE YOUNG PERSON

My tuition model encourages participation and tutees get feedback when they make mistakes, but tutees participate anonymously so there is less stress.

Groups: sense of safety in numbers, hiding in the crowd, so less intense

Feedback during the session: improving the tutee’s understanding, giving individual support

Anonymity when answering questions: tutees can be confident that no-one will think less of them for their answers, because their answers are not shared

Sessions are 50 minutes long: studies have shown that the average concentration span for teenagers is 32-48 minutes

Many teenagers are self-conscious: in my sessions students can hide behind their screen. They do not show their face and they do not use their voice

Many teenagers prefer to communicate by text than by voice
WHY DO TEENAGERS FIND PHYSICS CHALLENGING?
The challenge of time
Teachers have a lot of content to deliver in a short time, so there isn’t always time for adequate checking of understanding
The challenge of misconceptions
Young people are surrounded by examples of bad/incorrect physics, from what they read about in books to what they watch. This can introduce deep-seated misconceptions
The challenge of pedagogy
Young people are all different, and they all learn differently. 1:1 sessions work for some people, the classroom environment works for others, but I am offering another style of learning and support
PARTICIPATE, IMPROVE, SUCCEED, SHARE
I help tutees to improve in a fun, engaging way.
PARTICIPATE
Tutees are encouraged to participate using the interactive whiteboard. They can remain anonymous if they prefer, but the more they join in, the more feedback they’ll receive and the more benefit they’ll get
IMPROVE
Sessions are designed so that tutees see improvement in their understanding, giving a sense of achievement
SUCCEED
How is success measured? Take a look at my trustpilot reviews to read what others have to say.
SHARE
The more people who participate, the more everyone will benefit. Spread the word! We are each other’s support network, not each other’s competition.
WHAT ABOUT THE COST?
There is no getting around it, expertise and experience costs money.
The most recommended online physics tutor on Tutor Hunt* right now is £74 per hour, who currently has 22 tutees
There is one online physics tutor on Tutor Hunt charging £184 per hour, who currently has 56 tutees!
*Tutor Hunt was searched on 1st July 2025

The average cost for an online physics tutor is around £45 per hour
That is too expensive for most people, and I feel that everyone should be able to access the same support and have the same opportunities in life, regardless of the household income
My sessions are far more affordable. My enrolment model involves a monthly subscription, which you can stop any time you like (subscription is handled via WordPress). You can pay monthly, or yearly.

The cost is £7.50 per month when paying monthly, which works out to be around £3 per 50 minute session.
When paying yearly, the cost is £52, which works out to be around £1.73 per session
Enrolment also gives tutees access to recordings of the previous two terms sessions, plus other resources that can be downloaded.
I think £7.50 per month or £52 per year is very reasonable (essentially paying for a whole year what other tutors charge for a single hour). However, if you cannot afford the cost, please contact me.
I started Physics with Keith to help people, not to get rich by profiting from young people’s struggles.
ABOUT ME

Hello there!
I am Keith Dalby, the Head of Physics at one of the top grammar schools in the country. I have been teaching physics since 2010 and online tutoring since 2020, helping countless students achieve their potential.
I developed this unique approach to Physics and Astronomy tuition during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I discovered that young people much preferred online lessons where they did not have to show their face or use their voice.
As an MPhys (Hons) graduate physicist with a PGCE and over 15 years of teaching experience, an A-Level Physics Examiner for AQA, and an Isaac Physics ambassador, I have the knowledge and the teaching skills to help young people improve their understanding.
What’s the catch? Why am I offering my experience, expertise and time so openly (and cheaply? Because I understand the struggles young people are facing, and I believe in being kind and generous.
WHEN ARE THE SESSIONS?
