The end of Lent

I was abstaining from social media for Lent, but today Lent is over, and I can introduce the gamification of physics tuition! More about that later.

Lent has been a good experience. I’ve not missed social media really. It had become white a bad habit, sitting ‘doom scrolling’ on my phone.

The experience made me think of other habits; good habits, like regular participation and engagement with physics tuition!

I’ve introduced some gamification to Physics With Keith. When enrolled tutees log on to their dashboard pages, my website will record their weekly attendance. Then, as they attend more, they move up levels.

What the new “ranks” look like on the GCSE and IGCSE Physics Dashboard

Repeated attendance will earn stars (and other symbols, just wait and see!) and I will even include achievement unlocks too! That’s still a work in progress.

Right now I’m at the testing stage, but it will be helpful if enrolled tutees could log on so I can check it registers their first attendance (and awards them the rank of ‘Level 1’)

This gamification will be across all the different tuition courses: GCSE and IGCSE Physics, GCSE Astronomy, and A-Level Physics.

GCSE Astronomy 2024* Paper walkthroughs

These are happening!

Monday 6 April 2026 at 10am for Paper 1

Tuesday 7 April 2026 at 10am for Paper 2

I’ll share the links on the Astronomy Dashboard nearer the time, but you’ll be able to access it there.

*This is a change to the previous arrangement. The 2025 papers will still be restricted until May or June this year. I do not want to inadvertently commit Centre Staff Malpractice!

Reminder: weekly tuition sessions!
